Polyethylene is one of the most common types of plastic, it has the characteristics of light weight, corrosion resistance, friction resistance, heat resistance, good insulation and low temperature properties. Polyethylene is widely used in packaging, building materials, medical equipment, food and beverage and other fields. However, it is also a plastic that is difficult to degrade, and discarded polyethylene can seriously harm the nvironment.
1. Recycle
Polyethylene can be reused by recycling. Recovery methods include physical recovery and chemical recovery. The physical recycling method is to process waste polyethylene to make new materials, such as plastic bags, water pipes, containers, etc. The chemical recycling method is to decompose waste polyethylene into molecules, and then re-manufacture the decomposed molecules into new materials. This way is an efficient use of resources.
2. Energy recovery
Waste polyethylene can also be disposed of through energy recovery. Heat can be obtained by burning waste polyethylene. In this way, recyclablepolyethylene can be separated out for reuse, while also reducing the pollution caused by polyethylene to the environment and promoting the sustainable development of waste treatment.
Through the recycling and energy recovery of waste polyethylene, the value of polyethylene can be maximized, while protecting the environment and
saving resources. Therefore, we should try to choose recyclable environmentally friendly materials when using polyethylene products, and properly dispose of waste.
